The competitive strategy initiative concentrates on the formal theoretical foundations of business strategy. This includes a focus on the rapidly growing research approach that uses mathematical models to analyze issues relating to value appropriation under competition (who gets what, why and for how long -- all central questions in the practice of strategy).
The program is also working to develop a cross-disciplinary, cross-institutional network in strategy research. Partners in this endeavor include Harvard Business School, University of Toronto, and INSEAD.
